I have had a long, profoundly enlightening, painful and sometimes joyful and funny, journey to better emotional and physical health, wholeness and peace. So much seeking to find the right modalities to help myself learn what I needed to about myself to give myself what my embattled psyche was craving.
I have gone from a depressed survivor of family losses in my twenties, to an emotionally over reactive married woman with a child in my forties, to an emotional health seeker - a professional giver and receiver of support - as I travel this self-styled road to what I now call healing. I have learned that there is no timeline or set path for this work, and that my life’s purpose is to take my struggles and use them to mulch and tend the garden which nurtures my own growth and that of my clients.
As I have created my own answers, solutions, and journey, I support my clients in finding their own self knowledge and acceptance, so that they may shape their own wellbeing with gentleness and love.
Though my journey to emotional wellbeing has not been easy, I can say that I have loved absorbing wisdom from many therapeutic modalities which in turn inform my work with clients. When I was struggling with emotional regulation as a new mother, discovering Dialectical Behavioral Training, learning very simple effective techniques for mindfulness and managing my strong and painful feelings such as anger, was a revelation. When I noticed the role of self compassion in wellbeing, I became well versed in ways to gently hold our imperfections and learn compassionate self talk.
